10 Best Golf Accessories for 2023
1. Swing Caddie SC300i Portable Launch Monitor
It goes without saying that the better you know your ball flight, clubhead speed, and average distance with each club, the more consistent you’ll be out on the course.
But without real data, it can be difficult to gain access to this information. Luckily, golf technology has had some MAJOR improvements in the past 5 years.
New products are released every year that help players gain a better understanding of their swing metrics and performance on the course.
One of these products is the Swing Caddie SC300i Portable Launch Monitor.
Here are some data points this device can capture:
- Carry distance
- Total distance
- Smash factor
- Ball speed
- Swing speed
- Launch angle
- Apex
- Spin rate
After a couple of weeks (or even days) using the Swing Caddie, you’ll start to notice some patterns. For example, I noticed some of my slower swings produced more distance.
This was something that made no sense to me. How can a slower swing speed produce longer drives?
Well, after looking at launch monitor data, I realized that when I tried to swing hard to increase my clubhead speed, my spin rate also increased.
This meant that my swing was less efficient. Rather than flying on a penetrating path, the added spin caused my ball to balloon into the air.
Based on this information I began trying to reduce the spin rate with my driver. The difference was astounding.
Now I was hitting the ball 20+ yards further with less effort than before!
Without access to technology like the Swing Caddie SC200i, I’d still be out on the range wondering why I couldn’t hit the ball farther.
Also, one of my favorite things about launch monitors is that they’re extremely helpful for dialing your swing at the start of each golf season.
You know the first couple weeks of the golf season when your swing feels all out of sync?
Well, the real-time data provided by launch monitors like the Swing Caddie SC200i helps you see what you’re doing wrong and how to fix these issues right away.
Portable launch monitors are also a great way to settle in on a new course, especially if you’re playing far away from home.
Simply set them up on the range before your round and see how far you’re hitting each club in the current conditions.
Most of the best launch monitors have a built-in barometric pressure sensor. This means they’ll pick up differences in distance between courses. For example, they’ll be able to tell if you’re playing a high-altitude course with thin air or a low-altitude course with thick air.
This information will be factored into the results calculated by the launch monitor.
My favorite launch monitor is the Swing Caddie SC200i because it uses Doppler Radar Technology, which makes it one of the most accurate models on the market.
I also like that you can sync the monitor to a mobile app and it will send real-time swing data right to your smartphone.

2. Bushnell Golf Tour V5 Shift Laser Rangefinder
Gone are the days of guessing yardages into pins. With ultra-precise rangefinders like the Bushnell Golf V5 Shift, you’ll know exactly how far you have to the flag and which club to hit.
Bushnell has really gone above and beyond with the features they’ve added to this laser. One of my favorite things they’ve added with this model is the built-in magnet on the side of the device.
This makes it easy to stick your rangefinder to the metal bar that attaches the roof to the rest of the golf cart for easy access.
Before, I’d simply store my rangefinder in one of the cupholders in the cart. Unfortunately, I realized this was scratching the lens, making it more difficult to lock on to pins.
My next favorite feature on the Bushnell Tour Shift V5 Laser is that you can turn the slope setting on and off.
If you don’t know what the slope setting is, it just means that the rangefinder factors elevation into its calculations.
For example, if you’re 150 yards to the flag but the green is uphill from the fairway, your rangefinder might display 160 yards.
This is extremely helpful if you find yourself second-guessing club selection on uphill or downhill shots.
Unfortunately, most tournaments prohibit the use of the slope setting on a rangefinder.
What’s cool with the Bushnell Tour Shift V5 is that the slope setting is optional. You can simply toggle a switch to turn slope on and off, making it legal for tournament play.

As if these features aren’t enough to satisfy the tech-appetite of any serious golfer, Bushnell has a reputation being the #1 rangefinder in golf and is played by 99% of PGA Tour pros!

3. Garmin Approach S62 Golf Watch
I’ve checked out a lot of golf devices over my 15+ years playing the game. However, I’d have to say the Garmin Approach S62 Golf Watch is easily one of the coolest.
It’s packed with features to help you play your best.
For example, think back to a time when you had a blind tee shot or approach shot.
If you’re like most golfers, you took a “hit it and hope” approach here.
I’ve been guilty of this many times.
What’s neat about the Garmin Approach S62 is that the PinPointer feature will show you the direction of the pin on blind shots – kind of like a compass that always points to the pin instead of North. Pretty cool, right?
Okay, let’s look at another situation.
You hit a great tee shot. Absolutely blasted it down the fairway.
But your next shot requires you to hit into an elevated green. You have 150 yards to the pin, but you’re not sure what club to hit because it’s so far uphill.
Should you take an extra club? Even two extra clubs?
The Garmin S62 is perfect for this situation. It factors in slope and provides you with an adjusted yardage. Now, all you need to do is pick the club that will hit the ball to the adjusted distance.
It even factors in wind speed and direction to help you be even more confident in your club selection.
Finally, another one of my favorite features is that the S62 will tell you the exact distances to hazards.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve hit what I thought was a great drive, only to discover it rolled into a hazard. If I’d had the S62 back then, I wouldn’t have had this problem.
This is a fantastic feature for playing new courses with unfamiliar layouts.
So to recap, here are my favorite features of the Garmin S62 Golf Watch:
- Adjusts yardages for uphill and downhill slope.
- Shows you the direction of the pin on blind shots.
- Factors in wind direction and suggests a club to hit.
- Tells you the distance to hazards you’ll want to avoid.
- Connects to smartphone to receive text and email notifications.
It’s also preloaded with course maps for more than 41,000 courses around the world so it’s a safe bet that you’ll find the course you’re looking for!

4. Bushnell Wingman GPS Golf Speaker
Everybody needs a good wingman, right? Well, ladies and gentlemen, Bushnell has your back!
One of my favorite things to do is go out on the course with my buddies, have a few drinks, and listen to some music while we play.
However, one thing I’ve noticed is that most portable golf speakers have a very short battery life – just a few hours in some cases. Considering the fact that the average round of golf is 4-5 hours long, this simply won’t fly.
That’s why the best thing (in my opinion) about the Bushnell Wingman GPS speaker is that it lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge!
You can play about two rounds of golf before you need to worry about plugging it back in.
Another cool feature about the Wingman is that it comes with the Bushnell Golf App. Using this app, you can watch a full-color aerial flyover of each hole. This is extremely helpful if you’re playing a new course with a lot of blind tee shots or approach shots.
Finally, not only does it play music, but it also provides audio yardages to the front middle and back of the green by simply clicking a button on a remote.
It’s like having your own caddy standing beside you, telling you which club to hit!
Similar to the Bushnell Golf Tour V5 Shift Laser Rangefinder (above), the Wingman Speaker also mounts easily to your cart using a built-in magnet.
All in all, this is a great option for anybody who likes listening to music on the golf course or just wants a digital “caddy” to give them audio yardages.

5. Theragun Elite Percussive Therapy Device
Okay, I’ll admit it, this is not your typical golf product. In fact, it wasn’t even designed for golfers in the first place.
But, nonetheless, it can be a game-changer.
Let’s face it, humans weren’t built to play 36 holes of golf in one day. Even 18 holes can take its toll on your body – especially if you’re walking the course.
The Theragun Elite Percussive Therapy Device is a pulsing, handheld device that helps release deep tension in your muscles by delivering percussive blows at a very fast pace.

6. SKB Deluxe Hard Cover Club Carrying Case
This is really the only golf travel bag I would recommend. This is simply because the SKB Hard Cover Carrying Case is as much an insurance policy for your clubs as it is a piece of luggage. Here’s why:
First of all, it comes with an unconditional lifetime warranty. These things are built with military-grade polyethylene, but if you somehow manage to break it, SKB will replace it no questions asked.
Second, even if your clubs somehow get damaged by airline handling, SKB will repair or replace your clubs up to $1,500. As I said, this carrying case is pretty much a lifetime insurance policy on your golf clubs.

7. Blast Motion Golf Swing Analyzer
Six-time major champion, Nick Faldo, once said:
“Tempo is the glue that holds the golf swing together.”
But it’s not easy to maintain a silky smooth tempo on every swing. At least, not as easy as the great Sir Nick Faldo makes it look!
One tool that really helps drill down your tempo is the Blast Motion Golf Swing Analyzer.
This device attaches easily to the end of your club. As you swing, it provides valuable feedback like swing speed, swing tempo (backswing to forward swing ratio), and even attack angle.
This data is sent directly to the Blast Motion app on your smartphone and can be reviewed immediately.

8. Footjoy ProDry Golf Socks
Hands (or feet) down, these are the most comfortable pair of socks you’ll ever wear. I stumbled across these beauties when I won a pair as a prize at a golf tournament.
I immediately went back to the proshop and bought up their remaining inventory.
My favorite thing about these socks is that they have a little extra padding just above the heel on the part of your foot that rubs up against your shoe.
I usually walk the course and, previously, I’d always get blisters from my shoes. The extra padding on the back of the foot prevents this and I can happily say that I’ve been blister-free since I started wearing these socks!

One of the best things about the YETI Cooler is that it can be used for virtually anything. You can take it on your next camping trip. You can take it to your favorite fishing hole. You can bring it along for a hike.
And, of course, you can store it in your golf cart so you always have a cool drink ready to go when you hit the links.
Aside from that, it’s arguably the most durable cooler money can buy because it’s built with waterproof, puncture-proof fabric. Yes, it comes in at a higher price point than your typical cooler, but there’s a very good chance it’s the only cooler you’ll ever need to buy.

When this happens, it’s almost impossible to make a confident, aggressive swing without the club slipping in your hands.
